Janice Naymark

Experience / Education

Janice Naymark has been practising corporate/commercial law in Quebec and working with Robert Raich for over 25 years. Janice graduated from McGill University’s Faculty of Law, with both her BCL and LLB degrees in 1986, winning the IME Prize in Corporate Law (among others) and became a member of the Barreau du Québec in 1987. Janice also taught Business Associations Law at McGill University in 1996 and 1997 and served in a management role as the Director of Corporate Services at her previous firm for over five years.

Areas of Practice

Janice’s practice areas include a broad range of corporate/commercial matters, such as acquisitions and sales of businesses, venture capital transactions, shareholder relations, governance, shareholder agreements and all manner of business issues. Janice’s approach is practical, thoughtful and solution-oriented. She makes sure to understand the true nature and purpose of a transaction rather than stick to standard form documents.

Charitable Work

Janice is a founding member of Bread and Beyond Foundation, and is currently a member of the Governance Committee of the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. She has also served on the Board of Governors of Lower Canada College (2006-2014) and Chaired its Long-Range Planning Committee (212-2014), was a member of the Advisory Committee of the Quebec Association of Independent Schools (2012-2018) and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Quebec Community Groups Network (2019) in connection with a study on Access to Justice in English in Quebec.

Kyra Tuwaig

Biography

Kyra Tuwaig joined RaichLegal Inc. as an articling student in January of 2020 and became a member of the Quebec Bar in July 2020. Kyra has a particular interest and expertise in Wills and Estates, and her practice touches many areas of corporate and commercial law.

Kyra is a graduate of the Université de Montréal where she obtained an LL.B. in Civil Law (2017) and a J.D. in Common Law (2018).

Kyra spent her summers in law school as a summer law student at a boutique law firm practicing in the areas of immigration and labour law, as a government relations intern for a national advocacy organization and a volunteer for a legal information clinic. During her studies, Kyra was involved in the Association des étudiants juifs en droit (AEJD) and volunteered on a project for Pro Bono Students Canada.
